Pink Panther MGM/UA   1963  Widescreen+P/S  115 minutes  Mono Surround
Arriving at a posh resort with her precious "panther" - a large gem with the image of a leaping feline inside - sexy princess Dala (Claudia Cardinale) meets the debonair Sir Charles (David Niven). She is unaware, however, that Charles a.k.a. "The Phantom" is a professional thief who steals from the rich and gives to himself! Enter Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Peter Sellers), the clumsiest detective ever to trip over a case. In his attempt to stop Sir Charles' heist of the jewel, Clouseau stumbles, bungles and tumbles into comedy history. I especially like Clouseau's wife and phantom co-conspirator played by the lovely Capuchine. This film also co-stars a young Robert Wagner as the nephew of Sir Charles.
Directed by Blake Edwards

Herbert Lom is brilliant as the embattled Police Chief Dreyfuss. "Give me ten men like Clouseau, and I could destroy the world!
