Lorenzo Sanavi of Master Sound (top photo) hit me with terrible news when he informed of the sudden passing of  Nizar Akhrass, president of May Audio importing. Kazuo Kiuchi of Reimyo Audio (above right with his European distributor Virgil Warren) and Sanavi are both imported into the US by May Audio. Everyone here at The Stereo Times offer their deepest condolences to the Akhrass  and May Audio family.

Behind every good man there's a loving, caring women or so the saying goes. Mrs. Kerem Kucukaslan appears to be a living testimony to that statement. That's not a smile...that's the look of happiness.

Laufer Teknik's Buffer Ergmann and the inseparable Ballmanns of Behold electronics pose for your cameraman.

Holger Stein of Steinmusic Harmonizer fame was also in attendance at High End 2010. It was very interesting to see him setup his Steinmusic Harmonizers in the Lansche Audio room. The results were as to be expected: startling!

Here's Norm Dorkham, US importer of Audes; one of the most affordable and delightful sounding loudspeakers I know of. Dorkham also a resident of northern New Jersey, which is fortunate for me because it's given me plenty of opportunities to hear his products as they've entered the market over the past 10 years.

Aldo Zaninello of Extreme Audio (left), Italian manufacturer of the Sigma Acoustics loudspeakers, posed for your cameraman along with Turkish audiophile, friend and former Stereo Times contributor Adnan Arduman.

Thomas Fast of Fast Audio was again putting on show demonstrations that always leave me impressed. He's one of the best at his craft when it comes to showing why certain electronics do what they're designed to under the right conditions.

Rick Brown of HiFi One (photo left) was also enjoying his first official visit to High End 2010. He and friend Jonathan Josephs and I both stayed at the Munich Marriott, which gave us plenty of time to catch up on all the things this wonderful city of Munich had to offer. What a great time we had.

Sven Boenicke of Boenicke Audio was also at his first High End show and he also took to it like a fish to water. His products are gorgeously built and this year he introduced a type of speaker isolation device (photo left).

Bumped into Joe Reynolds and Roy Gregory of Nordost as they were busily making it from one meeting to another.

Rainer Weber and Hans Jurgen Kaiser (photo left and right) of Kaiser Kawero loudspeaker were walking the show with Ralf Weigel, CEO of Trinity/GTE Audio. Rainer invited back to his dedicated listening room to hear his latest updated system which included a full arsenal of GTE Audio electronics which boasts the world's most expensive ($100k) Trinity DAC. The last time I heard this DAC with the Kaiser Kawero loudspeakers was at the 2009 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest where it earned my Best Sound at Show vote. I certainly would enjoy another visit but would rather have someone else besides Mr. Kaiser drive. I am not sure if my heart can withstand another one-hour drive a 145-miles-per-hour. Kaiser promised he's keep the speed below 100-miles-per-hour. Okay, I can manage that...I think.
