Introduction
Can
you imagine
what your
system would
sound like
if you were
able to
directly
wire it to a
local
electric
company!
Both
Bill and Lew
beat me to the
punch on this
product so let
them share
their thoughts
on how good a
product it is.
However, I
couldn’t be
more pleased
by having just
installed them
in my rig. I’ve
recently
introduced,
(get this
FOUR!) model
400’s in a
daisy chain
configuration.
The more you
add, I’m
told, the
greater the
improvements.
After a few
short
experiments I
too found
noticeable
improvements
after each was
reinstalled
(don’t you
hate that).
Improvements
were: The
complete lack
of strain
coupled with a
sense of ease.
It brought my
systems
overall
performance up
to a level I
didn’t think
possible
Richard
Gray ought to
rename his
400S’s the
"Big
Easy"
instead.
Because that’s
exactly what
they’ve
transformed my
sound into.

Got The Power!
Lewis
Lanese
"...designed
to provide high
current on demand
to any audio or
video
equipment."
I have
resisted line
conditioners for a
long, long time. It’s
not that I don’t
believe they can
make a difference in
the performance of a
system but rather
that I prefer to
spend my limited
amount of money on
audio equipment
rather than
expensive tweaks.
Well, Richard Gray’s
Power Company has
caught up with me!
Manufactured
under license by
Transformer
Manufacturers, Inc.
of Chicago,
Illinois, Richard
Gray’s Power
Company is designed
to provide high
current on demand to
any audio or video
equipment. According
to Richard Gray:
[It]
increases dynamics
and performance of
AUDIO, VIDEO, HOME
THEATRE by
providing a short
term supply of
high-current on
demand to satisfy
power hungry
transients
required of the
A/C line by your
digital and analog
equipment,
including
amplifiers of all
power ratings and
design...[and]
quenches A/C line
noise, and
internal cross
talk between all
equipment in the
same circuit....
The
Power Company
provides four AC
outlets with each
unit. In an audio
system all source
equipment should be
plugged into at
least one model
400S. If the
amplifiers are
physically separated
you will need one
unit for each
amplifier. The units
may also be used in
multiple arrays to
increase power.
Bill
Brassington and I
attended a
demonstration at the
Listening Room in
White Plains, NY a
few weeks ago.
Although I was
filled with my usual
skepticism about
such devices, I
became a believer
first after hearing
the notable
improvement with
Richard Gray’s
Power Company 400S’s
connected to a
high-end audio
system and second seeing
the remarkable
improvement with the
device connected to
one of Sony’s new high-end
36" WEGA
television sets. I
ordered three model
400S’s on the
spot; one for all my
source equipment and
one for each
monoblock.
Of
course you’re
interested in how
the Power Company
affected the sound
in my system. I
immediately noticed
a quieter noise
floor, a sense of
ease and lack of
strain with improved
dynamics. The sound
was generally more
open, less
constricted
particularly in
complex recordings.
Bill Brassington
found quite similar
results in his
system (his comments
below) as well.
Richard
Gray’s Power
Company is highly
recommended. Take
the opportunity to
check it out at your
local hi-fi
emporium.
Bill
Brassington Comments
Once
again I’ve come
across another
product that simply
defies common
audiophile logic.
Meaning; how can a
power conditioner
change the quality
of a system to the
degree that Richard
Gray’s Power Co.,
device does? He
doesn’t talk
technical due to
patent pending
secrets, but what it
all comes down to in
the end is one thing
only, this products
works better than
any other (the only
possible exception
is the PS Audio
Power Plant but will
report on that at a
later date).
Theoretically,
however it can be
placed anywhere
within a circuit,
unlike the Power
Plant, to provide
high current on
demand to all
equipment within the
same A/C circuit
line. In addition,
you can (as Perry,
Lew and I have done)
daisy chain them to
get even better
results. These hefty
little beasts can be
fitted to any power
amp or system,
regardless of the
power consumption.
Why so
enthusiastic?
Simply
put, the Richard
Gray Power Company
AC Line Conditioner
is without doubt a
major candidate for
best line
conditioner on the
market. Improvements
such as: sense of
ease, inner silence,
improved detail,
greater depth,
superior resolution,
and dynamics don’t
come so easy.
Especially
passing through a
line conditioner.
