In all fairness, the GTT Audio room that
featured the YG Acoustics/ Soulution
electronics gets the nod for overall sonic
excellence. But considering the space was
also much bigger and better, this made
comparisons somewhat unfair (how many people
do you know who own dedicated listening
rooms period, not to mention rooms measuring
25' wide by 40' deep?). Ditto the huge
Acapella/Einstein listening space. When it
comes to real urban home dwellings, size and
appearance are of utmost importance. For
this native NY'er, that's why the Kaiser
Kawero wins hands down.

Rainer
Weber is the technical designer of the
German built Kaiser Kawero loudspeaker
($55k). I visited his home located in
Regensburg, about one hour outside of Munich
(that is if you're driving at about 140 mph
on the German Autobahn).

The look on
the faces of those in attendance to hear a
Bybee AC Purifier demonstration for the
first time was absolutely priceless. Rainer
Weber, Kerem Kucukaslan, Norbert Mundorf and
Frederik Caroe (of Duelund Coherent Audio),
were all literally stunned by the Bybee's
improved naturalness, relaxation, ease and
lack of artifact.

Love at
first sight! Jack Bybee (right) fell as much
in love with the Kaiser Kawero loudspeaker
as Rainer Weber fell in love with his AC
Purifier.

This
Master Sound 845 mono amp (top) rests on a
new and beautifully designed Mythology rack
from Korea. Kerem Kucukaslan, President of
Absolare and Echole Cables (right)
thoroughly modifies all his electronics,
including a fully gutted Reimyo CD player,
at his factory in Istanbul, Turkey (home to
one of the largest audiophile societies in
the world). Kucukaslan chooses Mundorf parts
as the best available for his modifications
and uses them exclusively for his Absolare
line of electronics.
Intrigued
by the wonderful performance I heard here at
last year's RMAF and in Regensburg, Germany,
your fearless traveler took the plunge and
paid a visit to Istanbul, Turkey, to the
home of Kerem Kucukaslan this past
September.
